25GbE VXLAN / EVPN data center access switch
Huawei CloudEngine CE6863 Series
48 x 10/25GbE ports with 6 x 40/100GbE uplinks, VXLAN EVPN and lossless RoCE in a 1U form factor.
The Huawei CloudEngine CE6863 series (including the current CE6863E-48S6CQ and CE6863H-48S6CQ) is a high-density 10/25GbE data-center access switch in a 1U form factor. It offers 48 SFP28 server ports and 6 QSFP28 uplinks at 40/100GbE, with hardware VXLAN routing and bridging, BGP EVPN and Huawei M-LAG for highly available, scalable IP fabrics. Built-in lossless-Ethernet capabilities (PFC and ECN) support RoCE traffic for AI and NVMe-oF storage, while the Huawei VRP platform provides comprehensive Layer-2/Layer-3 features and intelligent O&M through telemetry, Netstream and ERSPAN.

Key features
Dense 25GbE access
Forty-eight SFP28 ports operate at 10GbE or 25GbE, giving high-density, cost-effective server access in one rack unit.
Six 100GbE uplinks
Six QSFP28 ports run at 40GbE or 100GbE, providing high-bandwidth, redundant uplinks to spine switches.
Hardware VXLAN with BGP EVPN
Line-rate VXLAN routing and bridging controlled by BGP EVPN enables large, multi-tenant, automated data-center fabrics.
M-LAG high availability
Huawei M-LAG provides dual-homed server and switch connectivity with active-active links and no blocked ports.
Lossless RoCE for AI and storage
PFC, ECN and intelligent lossless algorithms carry RoCE traffic at low latency for GPU clusters and NVMe-oF storage.
Intelligent operations
Streaming telemetry, Netstream, sFlow and ERSPAN support visibility and automated, large-scale network operations.
Typical deployments
25GbE data center access
Connect racks of servers at 25GbE with 100GbE uplinks for virtualized and cloud data centers.
VXLAN EVPN fabric leaf
Act as a VXLAN hardware VTEP and leaf node in BGP EVPN-based spine-leaf architectures with M-LAG redundancy.
AI / GPU networking
Provide a lossless, low-latency RoCE fabric for distributed AI training and inference clusters.
Converged storage network
Carry NVMe-oF and all-flash storage traffic on the same Ethernet fabric using PFC and ECN, removing a separate SAN.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Huawei CloudEngine CE6863?
It is a 1U, 10/25GbE data-center access switch with six 40/100GbE uplinks. The current models are the CE6863E-48S6CQ and CE6863H-48S6CQ.
What ports does the CE6863 provide?
It has 48 x 10/25GbE SFP28 server ports and 6 x 40/100GbE QSFP28 uplink ports, plus management and console interfaces.
What switching capacity and throughput does the CE6863 provide?
The CE6863E/H-48S6CQ provides 3.6 Tbps of switching capacity, a forwarding rate of up to 2,000 Mpps and a 42 MB packet buffer.
Does it support VXLAN and EVPN?
Yes. It performs line-rate hardware VXLAN routing and bridging and uses BGP EVPN as the control plane for scalable, multi-tenant fabrics.
What is M-LAG?
M-LAG is Huawei’s multi-chassis link aggregation technology. A server or switch connects actively to two CE6863 nodes at once, giving redundant, load-shared links without a blocked port.
Can the CloudEngine CE6863 provide a lossless RoCE fabric?
Yes. PFC, ECN and Huawei intelligent lossless features support RoCE v1/v2 for AI/GPU clusters and NVMe-oF storage.
What is the difference between the E and H variants?
Both share the same port layout, switching capacity and buffer. They differ in selected feature and timing options (for example PTP/1588v2 on the H variant); we match the variant to your requirements.
What software platform does it run?
The CE6863 runs the Huawei VRP operating system, which provides the full Layer-2/Layer-3 feature set and data-center fabric functions.
What are the power requirements?
Maximum power consumption is 384 W. Redundant 600 W AC/240 V DC, 1,000 W -48 V DC or 1,200 W HVDC power modules are available.
What are the dimensions?
The 1U chassis is approximately 442 mm wide, 420 mm deep and 43.6 mm high (about 442 x 420 x 43.6 mm).
Can uplinks break out to lower speeds?
Yes. QSFP28 ports can be used with breakout cables for additional lower-speed ports; we plan and supply the correct optics and cables.
Is the CloudEngine CE6863 a genuine, current Huawei product?
Yes. It is a genuine Huawei CloudEngine model supplied with the manufacturer’s standard hardware warranty for the configuration ordered.
Can you pre-load a VXLAN EVPN and M-LAG configuration before the CE6863 ships?
Yes. We can load an agreed VXLAN EVPN and M-LAG reference configuration and supply the optics and cables so it is ready to deploy.
How do I request a CloudEngine CE6863 quotation?
