DELL CERTIFIED REDUNDANT POWER

Dell PowerEdge Power Supplies — Redundant Hot-Plug PSUs

Genuine Dell-certified redundant hot-plug power supplies for PowerEdge servers, from 495W to 2400W, Platinum and Titanium efficiency, with AC, -48V DC and HVDC options — matched by generation and label.

A failed PSU should be replaced with the exact same Dell generation and label type — mixing power supplies across PowerEdge generations is unsupported even at identical wattage. We supply genuine hot-plug redundant PSUs matched to your service tag, including AC, -48V DC and high-voltage DC options, so a replacement or upgrade runs correctly the first time.

PSU options we supply

Standard redundant AC

Common 495W, 750W, 800W and 1100W hot-plug AC PSUs for general rack/tower deployments.

High-wattage AC

1400W, 1600W, 1800W, 2000W and 2400W PSUs for dense, GPU and multi-drive configurations.

Platinum efficiency

High-efficiency Platinum PSUs balancing cost, power draw and heat for most workloads.

Titanium efficiency

Top-tier Titanium PSUs, some rated for 200-240VAC or HVDC only, maximizing data-center efficiency.

-48V DC / HVDC

DC and mixed-mode high-voltage DC PSUs for telco and data-center DC power architectures.

Generation matched

Same Extended Power Performance (EPP) label and generation as the existing unit to avoid mismatch.

Typical applications

  • Replacing a failed or warning hot-plug PSU
  • Restoring 1+1 redundancy on a single-PSU server
  • Upgrading wattage for added GPUs or drives
  • Matching -48V DC / HVDC for facility power

Frequently asked questions

What power supplies fit my PowerEdge server?

Current PowerEdge systems use hot-plug redundant PSUs from 495W to 2400W. Send your service tag and we identify the exact wattage, input type and label for your chassis.

Can I replace a PSU while the server is running?

Yes. Redundant hot-plug PSUs are designed for replacement without powering down, provided the replacement matches the same Dell generation and label and the second PSU is healthy.

Why can’t I mix PSUs from different PowerEdge generations?

Dell does not support cross-generation PSU mixing even at the same wattage; it can cause a mismatch or prevent power-on. Units must share the same label type, such as EPP.

What wattage do I need for added GPUs or drives?

It depends on total component draw. We calculate headroom against your configuration and recommend the certified wattage that supports redundancy under full load.

What is the difference between Platinum and Titanium PSUs?

Titanium is the higher 80 Plus efficiency tier, reducing power loss and heat; some Titanium models are rated only for 200-240VAC or HVDC. Platinum offers strong efficiency more broadly.

Do you supply -48V DC or HVDC power supplies?

Yes. We supply -48V DC and mixed-mode high-voltage DC PSUs for telco and DC-powered data centers, matched to the systems that support them.

Should I buy one PSU or a matched pair?

For redundancy use two identical PSUs. If you are restoring 1+1 after a failure, replace only the faulty unit with the matching Dell part rather than introducing a different label.

What is PSU hot spare mode?

When enabled at low utilization, one PSU is put into a low-power state to improve efficiency while the other carries the load, with seamless handover as demand rises.

Why does a Titanium PSU list 200-240V only?

Some Titanium designs reach their rated efficiency and output only on 200-240VAC or HVDC. We confirm the input rating against your facility voltage before quoting.

Can I upgrade to a higher-wattage Dell PSU?

Within the same supported generation and chassis family, higher wattage options may be available as matched units. We verify certification rather than assuming fit by wattage.

Are C14 and C20 input connectors important?

Yes. Lower-wattage PSUs commonly use C14 while high-wattage units use C20, which affects the power cord and PDU socket. We specify the connector so cabling matches.

Are these genuine Dell power supplies, not generic?

They are genuine factory-sealed Dell PSUs with Dell part numbers and the correct firmware/label, avoiding the compatibility risk of aftermarket units.

What warranty covers a replacement PSU?

New genuine PSUs carry the manufacturer warranty. We confirm the term for the specific part and coordinate support if a defect arises.

How fast does a replacement PSU ship?

In-stock PSUs are usually inspected and shipped within a few business days to minimize time outside redundancy; non-stock models depend on availability stated up front.
