GENUINE DELL RACK RAILS
Dell PowerEdge Rack Rails, ReadyRails Sliding Rail Kits & Cable Management Arms
Genuine Dell ReadyRails sliding and static rails with matching cable-management arms (CMA) for 1U and 2U PowerEdge rack servers — tool-less fit for square and round-hole racks, verified by chassis generation so the rails seat correctly and service cleanly.
PowerEdge rails are generation specific: a kit from the wrong chassis family will not seat or will foul the bezel. We supply the genuine Dell rail kit for your server and rack type, confirm the interface (ReadyRails or ReadyRails II) against your model, and can add the matching CMA so the system slides out for service without pulling on cables.
Rail kits we supply
ReadyRails sliding rails
Tool-less sliding kits that let you extend the server out of the rack for in-rack service; a CMA can be attached to manage cables.
ReadyRails II sliding rails
The updated interface used on newer PowerEdge generations, with native support for tooled installation in threaded-hole racks without adapters.
Static rails
Fixed kits that fit a wider range of racks, including 2-post/Telco racks, but do not allow the server to slide out and cannot take a CMA.
Cable management arms
Matching CMAs that mount to either side of the sliding rails without tools, keeping power and data cables dressed as the server extends.
1U rail kits
Chassis-specific 1U kits for R620 through R670 and the single-socket/AMD 1U servers.
2U rail kits
2U kits for R720 through R770 and R7725 families, including standard, xd and xs chassis where listed.
Typical applications
- Rack-mounting a new or relocated PowerEdge server
- Replacing bent, damaged or missing rail kits
- Adding a cable-management arm for clean in-rack service
- Matching the correct rail generation after a chassis change

Frequently asked questions
Are Dell PowerEdge rails interchangeable between generations?
Not always. Rails are matched to a chassis family and its ReadyRails interface generation; a kit from the wrong generation may not seat or may offset the bezel. We confirm the correct kit for your model.
What is the difference between sliding and static rails?
Sliding ReadyRails let you extend the server out for in-rack service and accept a CMA. Static rails fit a wider range of racks including 2-post/Telco racks but are fixed and cannot take a CMA.
What is ReadyRails II?
ReadyRails II is the updated rail interface used on newer PowerEdge generations. It still installs tool-lessly in square and round-hole racks and also supports tooled installation in threaded racks without separate adapter brackets.
Do the rails fit threaded or non-Dell racks?
They fit square and unthreaded round-hole racks tool-lessly. For 4-post threaded racks, original ReadyRails need adapter brackets; ReadyRails II supports threaded racks natively. Tell us your rack hole type.
Do I need a cable-management arm?
A CMA is optional but recommended with sliding rails: it dresses power and data cables so the server can extend and be serviced without straining or unplugging cables. Static rails cannot use a CMA.
Can the CMA be fitted on either side?
Yes. The Dell CMA mounts on the left or right side of the sliding rails without tools, so it can be placed to suit your rack layout and airflow.
Are 1U and 2U rail kits different?
Yes. 1U and 2U servers use separate chassis-specific rail kits and matching CMAs; they are not interchangeable, even within the same PowerEdge generation.
Which rails do I need for my rack?
Send your server model, service tag and rack hole type. We confirm the sliding or static kit and the ReadyRails interface generation so the rails seat correctly.
Can I buy just one rail or the CMA separately?
Yes. Rail kits are sold as a pair, and the CMA is available separately if you already have compatible sliding rails. Tell us what you need and we quote the matching part.
Will the rails block my rack door or bezel?
In some threaded-rack or deep-rack setups the server can sit slightly forward and the bezel may need to be removed to close the door; we advise on clearance for your specific rack.
Do the rails include everything needed to install?
New rail kits include the rail pair and the hardware for supported racks; adapter brackets for threaded racks (on original ReadyRails) are a separate kit. We confirm the contents for your order.
Are the rails new genuine Dell parts?
Yes. We supply new genuine Dell ReadyRails and CMA kits matched to your chassis, not unbranded copies, so they seat and are supported as intended.
Can rails be shipped with a server order?
Yes. Rail kits and CMAs can be consolidated with a server into one shipment, or shipped individually with tracking if you only need the hardware.
What if I cannot identify the rail generation?
Use your service tag in Dell’s parts tool or send us the server model and any code on the existing rails; we identify the correct current kit rather than guessing.
