xFusion FusionServer 5288 V6 Storage Server
A 4U dual-socket storage server powered by 3rd-Gen Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake), holding up to 44 large drives plus NVMe — factory-sealed NOS, 3-year warranty.

Maximum capacity on the mature Ice Lake platform
The FusionServer 5288 V6 fits up to 44 hot-swappable 3.5-inch drives and 4 NVMe SSDs in 4U, designed for tiered hot/warm/cold data deployment and historical-data archiving at the lowest cost per terabyte.
Built on 3rd-Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 32 DDR4 DIMMs (and optional Optane persistent memory), it delivers the dependable, proven economics that bulk-archive buyers look for.
Ultra-large storage
Up to 44 × 3.5" drives plus 4 NVMe in a single 4U chassis.
Strong compute
Dual Ice Lake Xeon processors, up to 40 cores and 270W TDP.
Flexible memory
32 DDR4 slots and up to 16 Optane PMem 200 modules.
Efficient design
DEMT dynamic energy management and redundant cooling and power.
Why a proven Ice Lake storage node still makes sense
Lowest cost per terabyte
Storage workloads are bounded by drive capacity far more than by the newest CPU. The mature platform removes the premium of the latest generation while delivering the same 44-bay density, so budget goes into drives rather than features a bulk-archive node will not use.
Proven and well understood
3rd-Gen Xeon is a long-shipping, thoroughly validated platform. BIOS, firmware and management are stable, and most engineering teams already know how to deploy and troubleshoot it — reducing risk in large storage builds.
Fits an existing DDR4 fleet
If your environment already runs 3rd-Gen Xeon and DDR4, adding the 5288 V6 keeps spares, memory and operational knowledge consistent. There is no need to introduce a new platform just to add capacity.
Still a capable two-socket server
Up to two processors, 32 DIMMs, ten PCIe slots and optional Optane give real compute and I/O headroom. This is a storage node that can also run local analytics, transcoding or storage services — not a dumb disk enclosure.

Typical workloads
Cold data & archive
Long-term retention and historical-data archiving at low cost. For archives that are written once and read rarely, the CPU generation barely matters — capacity, reliability and $/TB do. The mature Ice Lake platform lets you fill a rack with terabytes at the lowest entry price while keeping data on disk and instantly retrievable, rather than locked away on tape.
Video surveillance
Storage for video analysis and surveillance recording platforms. A single 4U node can absorb continuous streams from many cameras while meeting long retention windows. The remaining cores can handle motion indexing or export clips for review, so the recorder is not merely a passive disk shelf.
Cloud storage
Dense nodes for object, file and software-defined storage. Deploy the 5288 V6 as a capacity node in Ceph, MinIO or similar clusters, behind all-flash front-end nodes. Bulk replicas and erasure-coded data lands here, lowering the overall $/TB of the pool without changing the software your team already runs.
Big data
Media/entertainment and finance data processing and repositories. Historical partitions, raw media, compliance records and reference datasets fit naturally on dense disk. Two Xeon Scalable CPUs retain enough compute for periodic batch and analytics jobs that scan the data locally.
5288 V6 vs V7 vs V8
The same 4U, 44-bay chassis across three generations, all factory-sealed with a 3-year warranty. The difference is platform age — match it to your budget and existing fleet.
| 5288 V6 | 5288 V7 | 5288 V8 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable | 4th/5th Gen Xeon Scalable | Intel Xeon 6 |
| Memory | DDR4-3200 (+ Optane) | DDR5-4800 | DDR5-6400 / MRDIMM-8000 |
| PCIe | PCIe 4.0 | PCIe 5.0 | PCIe 5.0 / CXL 2.0 |
| Best fit | Lowest-cost bulk capacity | Best price/feature balance | New clusters, longest lifecycle |
| Typical buyer | Extending an Ice Lake estate | Want DDR5 without newest-CPU premium | Fresh 5+ year deployments |
Choose the V6 to maximise capacity per dollar or to stay consistent with an existing DDR4 fleet; step up to V7 for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, and to V8 for the newest Xeon 6 platform. Tell us your workload and current servers and we will recommend the generation rather than simply quoting the most expensive option.

Planning, delivery and warranty for a 5288 V6 order
Rack and power planning
Dense 4U nodes need coordinated weight, power and cooling planning.
- Up to ~57 kg per node — confirm rack rating and use a lift
- Redundant 1+1 PSUs up to 2000 W
- Depth 748 mm plus cable bend radius
- Plan rear hot-aisle clearance for continuous writes
Drives and configuration
We build to your exact bill of materials, not a fixed SKU.
- Select drive capacity and RAID/JBOD layout
- RAID controller or HBA for software-defined storage
- Mix four NVMe front bays with the 44-bay array
- Rails, cables and spares can be included
Delivery and lead time
Each server is assembled, tested and shipped in protective packaging. We confirm current lead time and freight for your destination, and can supply customs and project documentation on request.
Warranty and support
Every unit is factory-sealed NOS backed by a 3-year warranty through Beijing Xinchuan Technology. We support diagnostics and replacement parts during the warranty period and can arrange advanced replacement or extended coverage for storage clusters.
