Quick answer: The Dell PowerEdge R6625 is Dell’s 16th-generation 1U dual-socket rack server on two AMD EPYC 9004 (Genoa) CPUs — up to 128 cores per socket and 256 cores in total, 24 DDR5-4800 DIMMs up to 6 TB and up to 16 E3.S drives. Expansion is three PCIe Gen5/Gen4 slots plus OCP 3.0, with up to three 75 W single-width GPUs (no double-width). We supply it brand-new and factory-sealed with a 3-year manufacturer warranty. What Is the Dell PowerEdge R6625?

The R6625 puts two AMD EPYC 9004 Series (Genoa, Zen 4) processors into a compact 1U rack chassis: 12 DDR5 channels per socket, PCIe Gen5 expansion, an OCP 3.0 networking bay and E3.S front storage. With the 128-core EPYC 9754 in each socket, the system reaches 256 Zen 4 cores in one 1U node, while 24 DDR5-4800 RDIMMs provide up to 6 TB of memory. Selected high-power CPU options run at up to 400 W cTDP and are configured with direct liquid cooling; air-cooled SKUs cover the mainstream range.

It targets workloads that genuinely need two sockets in one rack unit: dense vSphere/Hyper-V/KVM virtualization, HPC and batch farms, all-flash vSAN/Ceph 1U nodes and memory-heavy analytics. As current production, components, firmware and the manufacturer warranty are all first-line.

Condition: brand-new, current production, factory-sealed. Read what New Old Stock means and our 3-year warranty terms.

R6625 Specifications in Detail

Processors. Two AMD EPYC 9004 Series (Genoa) CPUs, up to 128 cores per socket (EPYC 9754) and 256 in total. Selected high-power options reach 400 W cTDP and require direct liquid cooling; exact SKU, core count and cooling are confirmed on the order and inspection report.

Memory. 24 × DDR5-4800 RDIMM slots, 24 channels (12 per socket) at 4800 MT/s, up to 6 TB. DIMM layouts are matched across multi-unit cluster orders.

Storage. Front: 4 × 3.5″, 8 × 2.5″ NVMe or 10 × 2.5″, or 14 / 16 × E3.S. Rear: 2 × 2.5″ or 2 × E3.S. Maximum flash is 16 × E3.S, or a front 2.5″ plus rear E3.S combination, depending on backplane.

Expansion & GPUs. Three PCIe slots (Gen5/Gen4 by riser) plus one OCP 3.0 connection. GPU support is limited to up to three 75 W single-width cards; the 1U chassis does not accept double-width accelerators — choose a 2U platform if you need them.

Controllers & power. PERC H965i / H755 / H755N / H355, HBA355i / HBA355e, BOSS redundant boot and S160 software RAID. Redundant PSUs rated 800 / 1100 W (1100 W incl. LVDC) / 1400 / 1800 W.

R6625 vs Other AMD EPYC PowerEdge Servers

The R6625 is the 16th-generation dual-socket 1U in Dell’s EPYC 9004 line. For the same generation in 2U with more drive bays and double-width GPUs, choose the new R7625. One socket is enough? The new R7615 is the 16G single-socket 2U. The previous dual-socket 1U of the same shape is the sealed-NOS 15G R6525 on DDR4 / PCIe Gen4, with its 2U counterpart the R7525 and the sealed-NOS single-socket 1U R6515.

For the newest architecture, the 17G dual-socket 1U R6725 moves to EPYC 9005 (Turin) with a higher core ceiling, and the 17G 2U flagship is the R7725. The R6625 is the current-production Genoa 1U with the mature 16G feature set. See the complete AMD EPYC PowerEdge model list.

Condition, Testing and Warranty

Every R6625 we supply is brand-new and factory-sealed, carrying a 3-year manufacturer warranty. Before shipment each configured build is integrated and checked, BIOS/firmware baselined and stress-tested for CPU, memory and storage, and we confirm chassis revision, backplane, controller and PSU rating against the order. Each server ships with an inspection report rather than an anonymous auction listing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Dell PowerEdge R6625?

The R6625 is Dell’s 16th-generation 1U dual-socket rack server on two AMD EPYC 9004 (Genoa) processors: up to 128 cores per socket and 256 in total, 24 DDR5-4800 DIMMs up to 6 TB, up to 16 E3.S front bays plus two rear bays, three PCIe Gen5/Gen4 slots plus OCP 3.0, and up to three 75 W single-width GPUs. We supply it brand-new and factory-sealed with a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

Is the R6625 brand-new or New Old Stock?

Brand-new. Every R6625 we supply is current production, shipped factory-sealed with a 3-year manufacturer warranty — it is not New Old Stock. Sealed NOS is a separate condition we offer for older 15G models such as the R6525.

How does the R6625 compare with the R7625 and the R6725?

All three are dual-socket AMD EPYC servers. The R6625 is the 16G 1U on EPYC 9004 (Genoa), up to 256 cores in total. The R7625 is the same-generation 2U, with more drive bays and double-width GPU support. The R6725 is the newer 17G dual-socket 1U on EPYC 9005 (Turin) with a higher core ceiling. Choose the R6625 for a proven current-production 1U Genoa node, the R7625 for 2U storage and GPU expansion, and the R6725 for the newest 1U generation.

What memory and storage does the R6625 support?

24 DDR5-4800 RDIMM slots (12 channels per socket), up to 6 TB. Front: 4 × 3.5-inch, 8 × 2.5-inch NVMe or 10 × 2.5-inch, or 14 / 16 × E3.S; rear: 2 × 2.5-inch or 2 × E3.S. Maximum flash is 16 × E3.S, or front 2.5-inch plus rear E3.S depending on backplane.

What GPUs and PCIe options does the R6625 support?

Up to three 75 W single-width accelerators; double-width GPUs are not supported. Expansion is three PCIe slots (Gen5/Gen4 by riser) plus one OCP 3.0 connection. For double-width GPUs choose the 2U R7625.

What warranty comes with the R6625?

Every R6625 ships brand-new and factory-sealed with a 3-year manufacturer warranty. Each build is assembled, BIOS/firmware baselined and stress-tested before dispatch and ships with an inspection report. Full terms are on the warranty page.

How do I order and what is the lead time?

Send your target configuration — CPU SKU and core count, RAM, backplane, networking, GPU and quantity — plus destination and incoterm via Request a Quote, email or WhatsApp; we reply within one business day with a configured build, firm channel terms and lead time. Multi-unit orders ship with matched CPU steppings, DIMM layouts and same-batch drives.
