Frequently asked questions
Is the xFusion 2288H V6 an Intel or an AMD server?
It is an Intel platform. The 2288H V6 uses one or two 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake) processors. For an AMD-based xFusion 2U, see the newer FusionServer 2258 V7 on AMD EPYC.
How does the 2288H V6 differ from the newer 2288H V7?
The 2288H V6 uses 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake) with DDR4 memory and PCIe 4.0. The newer 2288H V7 moves to later-generation processors, DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0. The V6 remains a strong, cost-effective choice where the workload is well served by Ice Lake.
How many drives can the 2288H V6 hold?
Depending on the chassis, it supports 8–31 × 2.5″ SAS/SATA/SSD drives, 12–20 × 3.5″ drives, or 4/8/16/24 NVMe SSDs. At maximum it holds 45 × 2.5″ drives or 34 full-NVMe SSDs, plus two M.2 SSDs.
Can it support GPUs for AI or VDI?
Yes. The platform supports up to four 300 W full-height full-length dual-width GPU accelerators, eight FHFL single-width cards, or eleven half-height half-length single-width cards, subject to the riser and PSU configuration.
What is the maximum memory capacity?
With 32 DDR4 DIMMs it reaches 8 TB using 256 GB RDIMMs. Combining up to 16 Optane PMem 200 modules with DDR4 can extend total memory capacity to 12 TB.
Are the power supplies and fans redundant?
The server uses two hot-swap PSUs in a 1+1 redundant layout and four hot-swap counter-rotating fan modules in N+1 redundancy, so a single fan or PSU failure does not take the system down.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, Debian, openEuler and others. We can install and update your preferred OS before dispatch.
What warranty and support are included?
New 2288H V6 servers include a 3-year warranty backed by our team, with parts support and remote technical assistance throughout the coverage period.
Do you ship internationally, and how fast will you quote?
Yes, we ship configured servers worldwide with B2B packaging and documentation. We typically respond to quote requests within one business day.
