Architecture

Modular 10U architecture: slide out, not shut down

Seven highly cohesive, loosely coupled module types reconfigure independently; a cable tray enables blind-mate I/O.

xFusion G8550 V8 modular compute, IO and storage layers

Compute, I/O and storage layers separate into reconfigurable, independently upgradable modules.
xFusion G8550 V8 GPU compute drawer pulled out of the chassis

The GPU compute drawer slides out for toolless, chassis-in-rack maintenance of the accelerator population.
7 MODULE TYPES

High cohesion, low coupling

Compute, I/O, power and storage modules reconfigure independently, extending platform life.

NO RACK EJECTION

Service inside the rack

Blind-mate I/O cabling via the cable tray allows service without rack ejection or opening the chassis.

HOT SWAP

Slide-out, blind-mate service

Key modules hot-swap, so one component fault need not take the AI node offline.

TOPOLOGY

Flexible logical topology

Logical configurations tailor the GPU and I/O fabric to training, inference or mixed workloads.

1×GE OOB

Dedicated iBMC management

Dedicated GE port for out-of-band management: Redfish, SNMP, IPMI 2.0 and HTML5/VNC KVM.

Which GPUs does it support — 16 or 20?

Standard: 16 double-width GPUs at up to 600 W TDP each. xFusion also marks a 20-card, fully interconnected arrangement as a reserved specification — discussed separately on request. Data-center GPU models are configured per project; send the card model for a validated BOM.

How is the G8550 V8 different from the G6550 V8?

The G8550 V8 is the 10U flagship (16 DW GPUs, 20 reserved, 14 PCIe slots, two OCP 3.0 NICs, eight 3200 W PSUs). The G6550 V8 is 6U with up to 10 double-width GPUs (or 20 single-width cards), one OCP 3.0 NIC and pass-through/switch topologies. Both use AMD EPYC 9005.

How does it compare with the G5500 V7?

The G5500 V7 is a 4U AI server on Intel Xeon Scalable 4th/5th-Gen CPUs with up to 10 DW GPUs. The G8550 V8 moves to AMD EPYC 9005 (Turin) in a 10U modular chassis scaling to 16 DW GPUs (20 reserved) with eight 3200 W PSUs.

Is it air-cooled or liquid-cooled?

Air-cooled: three isolated airflow zones, 20 × 8080 fans (N+1) and 1,000+ hours of stability validation. Runs in a standard rack at up to 35°C, ASHRAE A1/A2.

What condition, warranty, lead time and shipping apply?

Brand-new, 3-year Xinchuan warranty, configured to order and burn-in tested. Lead time depends on GPU/EPYC SKUs and is confirmed at quotation. Worldwide shipping from China with export paperwork (FOB/CIF/DAP). See our warranty page.
